We always go into prison to minister to the inmates with a light agenda because it never fails the Holy Spirit is already there waiting to take over. I have never felt the Holy Spirit so strong anywhere like inside of a prison chapel. Even walking down the corridors we can feel the Holy Spirit welcoming us and leading the way. Our job is so easy, just go in. We are simply empty vessels for God to send His message of love through. We pray for God’s will to be done. Not our own ideas but His plan. After all they are God’s children. They don’t need us. They need God. We pray that God will help us to stay out of His way, and just use us as His messengers for what He has chosen to speak into His children. The words we speak and the seeds that we plant come to us from Him. In only a few minutes after gathering around God begins to pour out His words of love, guidance and wisdom through us. We can see the inmates swelling up with hope as His powerful words of love penetrate their souls. They may be prisoners to you and me but to God they are His beautiful precious children that are lost and He wants to save them. We are so blessed because we get to feel God’s love pour through us and into these beautiful souls. How can I explain in words such amazing joy that God gives to us for just simple obedience. Answering the call to visit His children in prison. Matthew 25:36, I was in prison and you visited me.
