Well it’s another new year again, the time when everyone thinks of all the possibilities and the changes they would like to make for the months to follow. I was never one to make news year’s resolutions. I guess it’s because I believed that every day is a new beginning and a fresh start for anyone who wants to make changes or reinvent themselves. Every day begins with new hope and exciting possibilities. If a person is serious about doing something, the good news is they don’t have to wait for a date or time to arrive on the calendar, they can just start doing it.
To be honest I really don’t even celebrate New Year’s Eve. I’m usually in bed long before the ball drops. But it never fails come the next morning before I even finish my first cup of coffee I’m already reminiscing about the year I leave behind. I begin to review all the projects that I’ve accomplished and the tasks I didn’t get to and perhaps a few that I’ve yet to finish. I think of how I could make myself more productive and some of the things that maybe I could do better. I guess you might call it my personal annual performance appraisal.
I’ll just continue to take each day as it comes beginning with a cup of coffee and a prayer. I’ll dream of what the day could bring and ask God to pave the way and give me divine opportunities to make this a better world for someone to live in. I’ll give each day a promise to give my best in whatever it brings and maybe I’ll make it an even better year than the last. I’ll just keep thinking every morning as a new starting line and try one new thing each day that will maybe push me to challenge myself to grow. I will ask Jesus for guidance, strength and wisdom because without my precious Lord included there’s no joyful excitement, it’s just another day and before you know it just one more year gone by.
Love always Holly,
